MOTD: Neutral Smokey Eye

Here is a very neutral smokey eye look I created with gold and brick brown. If you’d like to know what products I used to create this look, then read on!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Products I used:

  • Foundation: Cover Girl | Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in “Golden Tan”
  • Powder: Revlon | Age Defying Powder in “Medium”
  • Bronzer: NYC | Sunny Bronzer
  • Highlight: Benefit | Watt’s Up! Cream-To-Powder Highlighter
  • Eyeliner: Loreal | Infallible 24 Hour Lacquer Liner in “Blackest Black” & Maybelline | Line Stiletto
  • Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills | Dipbrow Pomade in “Medium Brown”
  • Eye Primer: Urban Decay | Primer Potion
  • Mascara: Smashbox | Full Exposure Mascara
  • Eyeshadow: Urban Decay | Naked 3 & Pati Dubroff | Spotlight Palette
  • Lashes: I bought them from Ebay which I actually mentioned in one of my blog post of a look I created a little while back. Click here if you’d like to see a brief review on the lashes I’m wearing.

To start off, I used Urban Decay’s Primer Potion in order for my shadows to stay pigmented and in place all day long. For an all over lid colour, I mixed “Buzz” from Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette with “Goldenleaf” from Pati Dubroff’s Spotlight Palette in order to create a beautiful golden colour with a bit of a rosy undertone.

In order to get rid of any harsh lines, I used “Mystic,” which is a matte taupe, as a transition colour. I applied this shadow on my crease in between my eye lid and brow bone.

To deepen up the look for a settle smokey effect, I used “Cognac” which is a beautiful brick brown colour and applied it on my outter corner. With a fluffly blending brush with no product, I carefully blended my life away until I was able to get rid of any harsh lines. From here, you can touch up any colour that has been rubbed off a bit from the blending for more pigmentation. After blending, I definitely went back to “Goldenleaf” and “Buzz” to do some touch up on the lids for a more vibrant effect since some of the pigmentation have been rubbed off from blending. As a highlight for my brow bone, I used “Cashmere” which is a matte cream in the Spotlight Palette. Lastly, I used “Cognac” for my bottom lash line (only from the middle to the outer) and then followed up with “Mystic” and applied it from the middle to the inner part of my lash line.

I then do my usual eye routine – winged liner and then follow up with a pair of falsies. In this case, I was going for a more settle, every day type of smokey eye so I decided to use a more natural pair of lashes just to add a bit of volume to my naturally thin and sparse lashes.

Here is how it looks when I’m looking down:

OOTD & MOTD | Cozy, Casual, & Put Together

I absolutely love the Fall season due to the fact that it’s the perfect time of year to wear earthy-toned colors, scarves, and booties. It’s been sunny, yet a bit chilly here in Southern California — I want to say around 70 degrees at it’s highest during the day and around 50 degrees at it’s lowest during the night time. Here is an outfit of the day with the perfect mixture of casual and dressy — it’s very cozy, but put together at the same time.

Since it was a little chilly with the sun peaking out a bit, I decided to wear a gray, thin long-sleeve turtle neck and paired it with a black fringe scarf to add a little something to the outfit while providing a cozier feel. I, then decided to stick with earthy-toned colors with the olive pants, tan leather purse, and brown buckle booties. I feel as though the wedged booties add a more dressier feel, making the outfit look very put together.

With the scarf, long-sleeve turtle neck, olive toned pants, brown booties, and taupe lips, this is a perfect outfit/look for the Fall.

Outfit details:

  • Fringe Scarf: Forever 21
  • Cotton Turtle Neck: Charlotte Rousse
  • Olive Pants: H&M
  • Brown Buckled Booties: Forever 21
  • Small Tan Purse with three zipper compartments: Forever 21
  • Hoop Earrings: Forever 21

Here is my simple makeup of the day. I didn’t show too much emphasis on my lids; whereas, I wanted the winged liner and taupe colored lips to do most of the talking. To add some definition to the lids, I used a very settle matte, light-medium brown called “Cover” from Urban Decay’s Naked 2 Basics Palette on my crease. I then created a very dramatic wing and followed up with natural looking falsies to give the illusion of fuller lashes, while still maintaining a simple and neutral look. Of course, I couldn’t skip the step of adding bronzer to accentuate my jawline giving the illusion of a slimmer face, as well as an illuminator on my jaw bone to portray healthy and radiant looking skin. Lastly, I decided to apply a taupe, matte lipstick which is such a wonderful lip color for Fall!

Makeup details:

  • Foundation: Cover Girl | Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in “Golden Tan”
  • Powder: Revlon | Age Defying Foundation in “Medium”
  • Bronzer: NYC | Sunny Bronzer
  • Highlight: Benefit | Watt’s Up! Cream-To-Powder Highlighter
  • Concealer under brows: Hourglass | Hidden Corrective Concealer
  • Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills | Dipbrow Pomade in “Medium Brown”
  • Brow Gel: Mally Beauty | Extra Lift Brow Gel
  • Eyeliner: Loreal | Infallible 24 Hour Lacquer Liner in “Blackest Black”
  • Eye primer: Urban Decay | Primer Potion
  • Eyeshadow: Urban Decay | Naked 2 Basics
  • Mascara: Smashbox | Full Exposure Mascara
  • Falsies: Ardell | Demi Lashes in “120 Black’
  • Lips: MAC | Matte Lipstick in “Styled in Sepia”

I hope you all enjoyed this post and until next time!

MOTD/OOTD | Indian Party

Hello everyone! I’m super excited to share with you all my makeup as well as my beautiful Indian suit I was fortunate enough to wear this past weekend. My best friend is Indian so I had the opportunity to attend an Indian party for her family’s Banquet Hall Grand Opening celebration. Oh my goodness, it was so much fun and the culture is just amazing! Not to mention, I was finally able to fulfill my Indian food craving!

Anyway, as I had just mentioned, I’m so eager to show you guys my makeup, as well as my gorgeous Indian suit so let’s get started!

Products I used for this look:

  • BH Cosmetics: Dark Rose Palette
  • Urban Decay: Naked 2 Basics
  • CoverGirl: Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in “Golden Tan”
  • Jordana: Forever Flawless Pressed Powder in “Light Honey”
  • NYC: Sunny Bronzer

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills: Dipbrow Pomade in “Medium Brown”
  • Mally Beauty: Extra Lift Brow Gel
  • Jordana: Easy Lip Liner in “Cabarnet”
  • Kiko Milano: Luscious Cream Lipstick in “Black Cherry”

For most of the eye look, I used BH Cosmetics Dark Rose Palette. This palette comes with 12 gorgeous metallic shades, 3 blush colors, and a BH Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner.

As an all-over lid colour, I applied a golden yellow-orange and darkened up the look by applying a dark brownish violet-plum on the outer corner of my eyes.

I used Naked 2 Basics in “Frisk” (light, matte dusty brown-taupe) as a transition color between my crease and brow bone in order to get rid of any harsh lines and then used ELF’s Flawless Contour Brush with no product to blend, blend, and blend again. After, I blended my life away, I went back to the brownish violet-plum colour in the Dark Rose Palette to add more purple that was faded from the blending.

Screen Shot 2015-11-19 at 6.40.58 PM

I then used Revlon’s PhotoReady Kajal Eye Pencil in “Matte Coal” on both my waterline and lash line as a base and right on top applied a metallic dark violet from the Dark Rose Palette for an extra pop of purple. For my inner corner, I used a metallic medium purple to brighten up the eyes. From there I created a winged liner, applied mascara, & followed up with falsies. For this look, I used Ardell’s Twin Pack in “105”.

For lips, I used Jordana’s Easy Lip Liner in “Cabarnet” as a base along with Kiko Milano’s Luscious Cream Lipstick in “Black Cherry” to create a beautiful dark plum lip. *Note: Keep an eye out for a Jordana Haul / First Impression post coming soon!

Now on to the outfit — this beautiful purple Indian suit with gold and silver embellishments I wore that evening:

MOTD | Simple Pinky-Rose

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to share my super simple makeup of the day — it is a pinky-rose look that I created using Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette. This is the perfect look for those days you want to look cute and simple, while accentuating the eyes. This look is very versatile which is what I absolutely love about it! It’s simple enough to wear for everyday, but at the same time can also be dressed up for special occasions.

Products I used to create this look:

  • CoverGirl: Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in “Golden Tan”
  • Revlon: Nearly Naked Powder in “Medium”
  • NYC: Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in “All Over Bronze Glow”
  • Benefit: Watt’s Up! Highlighter
  • Urban Decay: Naked 3 Palette
  • Borghese: Eclissare ColorRise Blush in “Stunner”
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills: Dipbrow Pomade in “Medium Brown”
  • Ulta Beauty: Eye Brow Gel
  • Revlon: 3D Volume Mascara
  • Ulta Beauty: Nude Lipstick in “260 Sweet Mocha”
  • Lashes: Keep on reading for details on the lashes I am using.

This is a super easy makeup look to create. I mixed “Buzz”, “Trick”, and “Liar” in order to create the perfect pink-rose color.

  • Buzz: Metallic copper-pink with silver micro-glitters.
  • Trick: Copper with an orange under tone. Frost finish with glitter sparkles.
  • Liar: Light-medium brown with a frost finish.

Screen Shot 2015-11-20 at 1.53.08 AM

I then mixed “Limit” and “Nooner” for my transition color. Lastly, I applied “Strange” right on my brow bone as a highlight.

  • Limit: Matte dusty rose with a hint of light brown.
  • Nooner: Matte medium taupe.
  • Strange: Cream with a matte-satin finish.

From there, I created a winged liner, applied mascara, and followed up with false lashes. I actually purchased these falsies on Ebay. It came with 10 pairs of lashes for only $1.95, plus free shipping. Can you say, STEAL?! I’ve honestly got to say that I absolutely love these lashes. They look very natural once it’s applied and is also very lightweight and comfortable. When I have these falsies on, I find that it doesn’t feel heavy on the eyes due to the fact that the band is very thin. I sometimes forget I even have them on, that’s how comfortable they are! Also, if you take good care of your lashes, I found that they are reusable for up to 3-4 times. It’s such great quality, especially for it’s price of $1.95. Definitely a steal! If you’re interested in purchasing these lashes, you are able to find them here. I live in Southern California and I believe these are being shipping from Hong Kong so I received my package about month (or a little over a month) after I placed my order. So just a little warning — it may take quite a bit of time until you finally receive your package depending on your location. Good thing I bought two packs and definitely planning on buying more!

Here is the full-face look of my simple pinky-rose makeup look:

Fall Inspired Makeup Look

Don’t get me wrong, I love spring/summer makeup — the whole natural look with the twist of fun & bright colors; however, fall season is my favorite time of year for makeup — the darker lips, mauve toned blush, exaggerated contouring, and beautiful warm-toned eyeshadow colors! I just love it all!

I feel like this makeup look just screams out “FALL” with the brick-toned eyeshadow color along with the dark lips. I was definitely loving the way my makeup turned out so I was super excited to share it with you all. If you’re interested in knowing what products I used and how I created this look, then keep on reading!

To start off, I primed my lids with Lorac’s Behind The Scenes Eye Primer for better colour payoff and as well as stronger lasting power; that way my makeup stays on all day long.

For the whole eyeshadow look, I used Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Maya Mia Palette.
