Hi everyone! I know I’m a bit late on this, but I still wanted to share what I received in my Ipsy Glam Bag this month, especially since this is my first one ever!

I absolutely love the galaxy bag this month! It’s so cute and I would totally take it with me for travel. Anyway, in my bag I received:

  • Smashbox: Full Exposure Mascara
  • Bombshell Cosmetics: Retractable Eyeliner in “Wild Child”
  • Dermelect Cosmeceuticals: Peptide-Infused Nail Laquer in “Commando”
  • Trestique: Mini Matte Lip Crayon in “Florence Fig”
  • Warm Love Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask

I guess I’ll start from the top of the list:

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara: I was SUPER excited to try this mascara out! I have really sparse and thin eyelashes and I love trying out new mascaras to see what products are capable of fixing this issue of mine. I like it, but if I’m being completely honest, I don’t particularly love it. I’m a little disappointed to say that it doesn’t hold the curl very well and noticed my lashes drooping down a bit throughout the day. However, when this does happen, I use my fingers to push up my lash hairs and find that it helps keep the curl a little longer. This mascara also did not meet up to my expectations as far as lengthening and volumizing. I found that I have other mascaras that have provided my lashes more length and volume in comparison to this one. I had to apply multiple coats in order to achieve some sort of volume; however, after a couple coats, I was still not able to get the look of full lashes I desired. Although, I must say, I did not notice any flaking or smudging whatsoever so that’s definitely a plus! Overall, I do have to say that I don’t hate it, I just wasn’t in love with it. It’s a good mascara for lazy days or are on-the-go and just want to have a natural look while adding a bit of attention to the lashes. All in all, it’s not a terrible mascara, it just didn’t work out for my lashes as well as I hoped it would. Don’t get me wrong, I do like it and I will definitely continue to use it!

Bombshell Cosmetics Retractable Eyeliner in “Wild Child”: I have been looking for a good black eyeliner so I was very happy that my bag included this product. It’s a good eyeliner, but once again, if I’m being completely honest, it’s not the best eyeliner I have ever used due to the fact that it’s not as black as I thought it’d be. It’s actually pretty sheer and not too pigmented. As far as color,  I would have to say that it is in between carcoal and black — it’s not a very black eyeliner at all, which isn’t a bad thing to be quite honest. This eyeliner would be great for an everyday look as well as a very settle smokey eye. What I like about this eyeliner is the fact that it does stay on my waterline and bottom lash line all day without smudging.

Dermelect Cosmeceuticals Peptide-Infused Nail Laquer in “Commando”: This has to be my favorite item that I received in my bag! The color is BEAUTIFUL! It is a dusty rosey-mauve colour — definitely up my alley! The pigmentation is amazing! One layer is actually enough, but knowing myself, I always like to apply two. I applied this nail polish five days ago and I promise you, it still looks almost perfect with very, very minimal chipping. I absolutely LOVE this product! LOVE! What’s also great about this nail polish is the fact that it’s 5-free meaning it does not contain dangerous chemicals such as Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Camphor, and Formaldehyde Resin.

Trestique Mini Matte Lip Crayon in “Florence Fig”:  I really like this lip crayon. It does claim to be matte, but it’s actually not fully matte; whereas it has a matte-satin finish which is still very pretty! It glides on the lips very easily, the pigmentation is great, it last a good couple hours on the lips, and not to mention, the packaging is adorable! The color I received is a cool-toned mauve which is great for everyday. Since it’s so small and cute, you can just throw it in your purse making it the perfect on-the-go lip product for those days you are rushing, but still want to look polished with an added flush to the lips.

Warm Love Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask: I got so excited when I saw this product in my bag! I absolutely love pumpkin scents and not to mention, I have never tried a pumpkin scented skin care product so I was so excited! Using this product, I applied it on dry skin using an upward circular motion as it was directed on the packaging. A little bit goes a long way and applies to the face very smoothly. Once I had it all over my face, I dampened my fingers and massaged my face for about 2 minutes or so. As it was on my face, I could smell a faint scent of the delicious pumpkin scent which was perfect since it wasn’t overpowering. Right after I washed my face, I noticed such a difference. My face was extremely smooth and soft, my pores were smaller, and the follow up application of my moisturizer glided on my face so smoothly due to the fact that my skin was so soft from this product. This definitely gets an A from me.

Overall, I’m very happy with my very first Ipsy Glam Bag and I’m already looking forward to my next one!
